Please help me out? this dudes been a douche and idk why?

hey 1st of all i wanna clear things up we are both guys and 16 years old.. now the thing is we have been friends for.. idk 7 years and we were good friends but from the beginning of this year hes kind of a douche... for instance he likes calling me useless idiot and that im a gay emo and all kinds of stuff and suddenly he decides that hes 2 popular to speak to me lol... and then when i have to ask him something hes like dont talk to me u idiot and stuff the funny thing is my attitude towards him hasnt changed a bit and also ive helped him out a lot when he was going through rough situations so i dont understand this behaviour now... now he can do whatever he wants but i still dont want someone cussing me out 24/7 -.-
