Has Political Correctness killed the advancement of society?

You're exaggerating when saying that PC has killed the advancement of society. There are lots of elements that contribute to societal progress that aren't socially/politically charged, not to mention that PC isn't ubiquitous. Just to give a random example, the invention and utilization of better, cheaper microchip production technologies isn't something that can be impeded by butthurt idiots and the censors they put in charge. Plus, if you feel you can't discuss some ideas with PC people for fear of getting shitstormed, change the audience. It's as simple as that.
